Is it REALLY a Problem?

It has recently come to my attention that evidently kids are in need of various kinds of therapy because of "climate change." Let me elaborate on that. Kids as young as first and second graders are now being indoctrinated by the powers that be in public schools about changes to our planet, and many events are being described as catastrophic or life changing. Folks, let me say up front, there is probably some truth in nearly every questionable situation, but we should NEVER buy 100% of anything we read, even if (or especially if) it did come from a current textbook. Anyone who thinks there are not some slanted views in textbooks is a half bubble off plumb. These textbooks' events like heat waves, cyclones, floods, volcanos that erupt, and water scarcity are being discussed like they have never happened before. Trust me when I tell you, I'm nearly sixty years old and all of these things have been a part of our world long before I popped out with a full set of teeth and bit the doctor.
To be fair, if I were that young in a school setting and being told that the sky was falling, I'd probably need therapy too. As someone who just recently popped out of the womb, what do you do with that kind of information without losing your mind? As adults we question everything, but children rarely question anything. They usually take what they hear from their superiors at face value. But isn't this a bit like advertising a problem and therefore creating a new one in the process? If you announce to very small children that the world could come to an end any day now and therefore requires a bit of therapy to help them cope with the idea isn't that absurdity at its best? That would be like meeting my wife at the front door every night of the week with a bloody butcher knife and enraged look on my face and then asking her, "hey honey, are you okay, you seem a little rattled."
For a moment let us pretend that everything about the future of the planet that is being reported is true. Even the so-called experts say that we are probably past the point of return. So, my question is this, why burden these kids with such information when there is no known fix? Just let them enjoy the time they have been allotted, let them just be kids. Which brings us to the question, is "climate change" and "global warming" just two sides of the same coin. I always figured that climate change was just the updated title the left used to prop up their cause because any time they use the term global warming and there is a foot of snow on the ground, I feel like someone is trying to put one over on me.
